It’s World Down Syndrome Day this Saturday, 21st March! We hope you have your odd socks at the ready?
As the day falls on a weekend this year, we’d love to see some of our Sunshine families (rocking their bright, funky socks!) at 21 Co. on Saturday to celebrate with us and help spread awareness in our community. You’ll be able to colour in some odd socks for our window display.
And if you don’t already have your socks already chosen, you can call in this week and pick up a pair of “Stand Out Socks”. Stand Out Socks employs 5 people with Down syndrome and every purchase directly supports meaningful employment for people with learning disabilities, breaking down barriers and making a statement that differences are celebrated.
We will also have delicious limited edition Sunshine & Smiles cookies baked for us by The Biscuit Lab.
Don’t forget to let us know what you’re up to on World Down Syndrome Day and tag us in any social media posts. We will be sharing a post on our socials later in the week so watch out for some exciting information about our dream for Sunshine and Smiles’ future!
There are some useful WDSD resources on our website.
