We have previously shared appeals to help fund the completion of a documentary about Ultimate Thunder, a Leeds based punk rock band, most of whose members have a learning disability/autism. Two band members have Down Syndrome.
With the help of many well wishers the film was finished; it premièred at the Sheffield DocFest in June where it won the festival’s Audience Award. Now it is to be shown as one of the opening films of this year’s Leeds International Film Festival.
There is a showing at Hyde Park Cinema at 17.45 on Friday 30th October followed by a Q and A session and a showing at Mill Hill Chapel at 18.00 on Monday 9 November which is Pay As You Feel. For anyone who has ever dreamed of being in a band, it’s a film not to be missed!
