Did you see Sunshine & Smiles and 21 Co. on Newsround this week? (Don’t worry if you missed it, you can catch up here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/videos/cn48p1xk7qlo)
Newsround presenter Shanequa Paris was joined by Sunshine & Smiler, occasional 21 Co. barista, author, and BAFTA-winning CBeebies presenter, George Webster as they visited our 21 Co. café and met some of our Sunshine & Smilers.
The piece was created to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day, and Shanequa and George interviewed the young people asking them about what they get up to at Sunshine and Smiles, what the charity means to them and also what they want to be when they grow up!
A wonderful quote from Ava was taken to be the title of the feature, “'It's important to take part and have fun - that's what we do here”. We couldn’t agree more!
We’d like to give a big thank you to George, Shanequa and the Newsround team for visiting us and sharing our story.
