We have been contacted by Trainee Psychologist and Researcher, Maggie Rose at the University of Birmingham about a new project “Sense of Belonging in Adolescents with Down Syndrome”.
Maggie is working closely with the Down Syndrome Association's 'Our Voices' group to think about and create resources for her research project. Whilst research shows how important belonging is for the mental and physical health of adolescents, no-one has spoken to adolescents with Down Syndrome about this. She is hopeful that this research project will enhance understanding of what belonging is like for adolescents with Down Syndrome and potentially lead to the development of interventions that may enhance belonging for young people with Down Syndrome.
