New Parent / Carer Participation Forum
This forum is to ensure better outcomes for children and young people with SEND and their families. It is about the involvement of parents with a range of professionals and strategic managers in the early stages of planning and the subsequent delivery of services. The benefit of actively involving parents in decision-making is an integral part of government legislation and plans, and evidence suggests that services are improved when parents are actively involved in shaping them.
Contact is the delivery partner for the Department for Education for Parent Participation and will be conducting the forum.
Catherine Ratcliffe is an Associate working for Contact (formerly Contact a Family), and will be working with parents and carers in Leeds to engage parents and carers to develop a new Parent Carer Forum for the City.
Contact would like to invite parents / carers to one of the virtual meetings listed below to discuss how parent participation and co-production might be developed further in Leeds. It is essential that as parents/carers that it is your voice that is heard in the design and development of services for your children and young people.
Join in to find out how you can play your part in achieving better outcomes for children with SEND
The meetings will be on :
- Monday 19th September 10am to 11:30am
- Tuesday 20th September 6:30pm to 8pm
- Monday 26th September 12:00pm to 1:30pm
