Dr Wendy Uttley from the Down Syndrome Training and Support Service, is running live weekly online training sessions for schools.
This 24 week course is designed to provide training and ongoing support to schools who have a child with Down syndrome on role from September. Covering a wide range of vital topics, including:

Introduction to Down syndrome

Signing and Down syndrome
-
Teaching basic number skills to children with Down syndrome using the Numicon approach
-
Teaching number skills beyond 10, time & money
-
Visual resources to teach speech, language, communication and literacy
-
Reading, Language Intervention (RLI) for children with Down syndrome
Each topic will be followed with an online consultation for participants and sessions will be recorded.
