King’s College London are asking for participants for a research study to understand how children and adolescents who have Down Syndrome develop two or more languages. They would like to look into detail about strengths they have and challenges they experience when acquiring English.
This study is organised by King’s College London and the Down’s Syndrome Association and
funded by Economic & Social Research Council and Japan Student Services Organization. They are looking to recruit children and adolescents who have Down syndrome aged 5 to 16 of
any language background, whether they are monolingual or bilingual.
Participants will be asked to engage in language and cognitive assessments, involving pictures and questions. These assessments are for young children above three and will include child-friendly materials. Parents will also be asked to answer an online questionnaire related to their biographical information and language use.
