Thursday 21st March was World Down Syndrome Day (this date was chosen to celebrate WDSD as it signifies the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down syndrome).
So many individuals and organisations chose to support Sunshine & Smiles this World Down Syndrome Day, and we’re very grateful.
We’d like to give a big Sunshine & Smiles THANK YOU to the following people and organisations for fundraising for us:
- John Jamieson School
- St Chad’s Primary School
- Churwell Primary School
- Leeds Tykes RUFC
- Sarah Campbell and everyone at Time Tok Dance
- Jacqueline & Noah Moffatt Coulson
- Monaghan Mushrooms (Whitley Site)
The generous donations that Sunshine & Smiles receives from individuals, organisations and fundraisers means that we can give vital support to the children, young people and their families in our network and offer free access to all our services.
Every penny donated to Sunshine & Smiles goes directly towards the vital support we offer to our children, young people and families; whether that’s Speech & Language sessions, transport for families, or paying our trained staff to support families or help our young adults into training and work.
