Speech and Language Update

We are very excited to have an update on our Speech and Language provision. As you hopefully know, Caitlin has now joined us as a qualified Speech & Language therapist and she will be running our sessions with supervision from Ruth Mercer.

Other than those already in Ruth’s Monday groups, Caitlin would like to meet every child or young person for a 30 minute one-to-one session. This will give her an opportunity to meet and get to know each child and their individual needs, and she will be doing a mini assessment so that she can provide individualised advice and suggestions after the session. It will also ensure that children are placed into appropriate groups and will enable us to be able to provide the best possible Speech and Language support moving forward.

We have sessions during the day on Saturdays and Sundays in October, as well as some after school sessions. If these sessions become fully booked we will run more in November. It is essential that you attend one of these sessions if you are wanting to be part of one of our Speech and Language groups. These groups will be starting in January and will run monthly throughout the year.
