Mezabin Lunat is a MSc Occupational Therapy student at Leeds Beckett University. She is conducting a quantitative study focusing on the correlation between stress, quality of life and occupational participation in health-promoting activities among parents with children with learning disabilities.
Aims & Objectives
- Explore the correlation between stress, quality of life, and occupational participation in health-promoting activities among parents of children with learning disabilities.
- Provide greater insight to perspectives and experiences of subjective measures of health and well-being, of parents caring for children with learning disabilities, for the general public, and professions in the educational, health and social disciplines.
- To offer guidance for future research and areas of interventions.
- Add to the limited existing quantitative research focusing on this group sample.
Eligibility
- Parent to a child between ages of 12 months to 18 years, formally diagnosed with a learning disability.
- Resides in the United Kingdom.
- Actively involved in the child's life.
What does participating look like?
- Read the participant information form and fill in the consent form.
- Complete the demographic survey.
- Complete three standardised measures; Parental Stress Scale, Health Promoting Activities Scale, and Short Form Health Survey-this will take no longer than 15 minutes.
- Read the debrief form.
- All contributions will be anonymised.
