ITV Emmerdale approached Sunshine & Smiles to give guidance on Makaton being used in this episode where Marlon has an emotional conversation with his son, Leo.
Ruth Mercer, who delivers some of our Speech & Language Sessions and is a regional Makaton tutor, spent the day on set advising the cast and crew. She said it was a fantastic day, and we are delighted we were able to help.
It's great to see Makaton used on prime-time television, as we know firsthand the positive impact it has on the people in our community who use it.
