There is only one week to go until the Government’s SEND Reforms consultation closes, on 18th May.
We were proud to attend the Leeds Save Our Children’s Rights demonstration about the SEND reforms. It was especially lovely to see lots of Sunshine & Smiles faces, but equally important to see how many other people will be affected.
There were excellent speakers from across the region; children & young people, parents and carers, educators, advocates & local councillors, sharing important stories & views that need to be heard.
Last week we held a face-to-face meeting for Sunshine and Smiles parents and carers. You can read the transcript of the meeting in the SEND Reform WhatsApp group. We will be responding to the consultation as an organisation, and we will be sending out a survey to gather your views if you couldn’t attend the meeting. It is also really important that you complete the consultation individually so that as many responses as possible are submitted.
Every voice really does matter.
