Leeds City Council are working with range of partners, including children and young people and families, to produce a new SEND and Inclusion strategy for children and young people in Leeds and their families.
The new strategy aims to make Leeds a child-friendly and truly inclusive city for children and young people who have SEND or additional needs. We know from talking to young people, families and partners, that many of our children and young people with SEND or additional needs have good experiences of learning and living in Leeds. We also know that some do not, and we need to change this.
We are inviting people to join us at Zoom sessions to find out more about our early work on the strategy. We really want to hear what people think about it. If you are a child or young person with SEND and/or additional needs, a parent or carer, or you work with children and young people in Leeds, please join us at a session! Your views will help us to keep working on the strategy and make sure we get it right.
To find out more and take part, please visit our Leeds Local Offer website.
There is also an online survey for young people who have not been able to attend a focus group, the survey can be found here.
We can also bring the session to groups of young people, families or partners. Email Natalie from the Learning Inclusion Service natalie.samuel@leeds.gov.uk to discuss this.
If you can’t make it to a session, or prefer to read about the strategy and give feedback in your own time, that’s also an option. See our website as above for more information.
