The 40th Great North Run takes place on Sunday 12 September 2021, but it all began back in 1981. And since then over 1.2 million people have taken part, making it the world's biggest and best half marathon!

Where does the money you raise go?
Every penny donated to Sunshine & Smiles goes directly towards the essential support we offer to our children, young people and families; whether it is Speech & Language sessions, fruit and milk for our baby group, transport for families, or paying our trained staff to support families or help our young adults into training and work.
