Smilers with ‘Made with Music’ and Leeds Conservatoire

Smilers is our group for ages 8-18 years on a Saturday morning, every 2 weeks.

This term the sessions with Made with Music will look a little different, and there are a few extra sessions; Made with Music are working with students from Leeds Conservatoire on a creative project making new connections across the city between musicians and community groups. They have asked Sunshine & Smiles to take part with our Smilers Saturday group.

It will follow a similar format to our usual Saturday sessions but we will have additional leaders from the conservatoire working with us to create a new piece of music. The aim of the project is to bring together our families, students from the conservatoire and professional musicians to perform this new creation at the conservatoire later in June. Hannah & Kathryn will still be at the sessions. This project will also inform how we create the inclusive ensemble Made with Music are hoping to start up in September 2023 (thank you to those who have filled out the survey monkey about this).
